WHAT IS GOALS FOR GOALS?

Goals for Goals is simple: Each player on your team’s roster gets family and friends to pledge a donation per goal scored throughout the World Cup. For example, Greg Goalscorer gets his neighbor, Mrs. Johnson, to pledge $1 per goal scored during the tournament. Let’s say the grand total of goals scored is 147 (the actual amount scored in World Cup 2006 in Germany). Mrs. Johnson would then donate $147. His other family and friends each pledge different amounts per goal, for a total of $5 ($5 x 147 goals = $732). His efforts, alone, raise $882. If his 17 teammates each work as hard as Greg, the team can raise about $16,000.

WHERE IS MY/ MY TEAM’S SUPPORT GOING?

Your efforts can keep the TRIAD Nkomazi Rush participants thriving. It only costs $30 per year to support a child as he or she participates in the league or school-based programs, receives year-round weekly medical education, and has access to 3 free, anonymous, confidential HIV tests each year. That’s less than a dollar a week. For example, money raised will go to:

• • -   Transportation for soccer teams to travel between remote villages for tournaments
  • -   HIV test kits
  • -   Salaries for the Medical Educators

WHO IS ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE?

1. If you are going to follow the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, TRIAD wants you to participate in Goals for Goals.
2. If you want to help support your fellow soccer players across the globe, TRIAD wants you to participate in Goals for Goals.
3. If you want to be a player in the fight against HIV/AIDS, TRIAD wants you to participate Goals for Goals.

ARE THERE INCENTIVES FOR ME TO SECURE PLEDGES?

YES, there are incentives! Incentives are based on the Total Amount Pledged Per Goal.

ARE DONATIONS TAX DEDUCTIBLE?

Yes, all donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. All checks should be made out to TRIAD Trust.

WHAT AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR DOING?

1.  Soliciting donations (pledge per goal scored in the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa)
2.  Submitting “Player Sponsor Worksheet” with pledge amounts:

• • -   If you are a member of an official partner club (Richmond Strikers, MPS, Rush Soccer Clubs, McLean Youth Soccer, Pleasanton Rage, Azteks), you must email or deliver a hard copy of your “Player Sponsor Worksheet” to your club administrator no later than June 7.
  • -   If you are participating individually or your club is not listed above, you must email or fax your Player Sponsor Worksheet to TRIAD Trust Executive Director Brooke Wurst to bwurst@triadtrust.org or fax to 262 264 2560 no later than June 7.

3.  Collecting all pledged donations from your sponsors.

• • -   TRIAD will email you the official 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa goals total on July 13
  • -   All checks should be made out to “TRIAD Trust”
  • -   If you do not receive an email with the goals total on July 13, please email bwurst@triadtrust.org or call 617 699 8680

4.  Mailing donations to TRIAD Trust by August 1, 2010.

• • -   All participants shall mail their donations and player sponsor worksheets to: TRIAD Trust, 1166 Washington Street, Suite 606, Boston, MA 02118

*Once TRIAD receives your collected contributions via mail, your incentive prize will be mailed to you directly!
