Journalism Program
The community newspaper program strives to create a sustainable resource by offering training in editorial skills, establishing advertising and budgeting plans, and developing realistic circulation goals. Tailored to the needs of the individual community, TRIAD’s Journalism training workshops bolster the reporting, writing, and editing skills of aspiring journalists. Emphasizing timely, accurate reporting on stories with relevance and resonance will help to inform local readers about the world around them.
Not only sources of information for politics, sports, and crime, community newspapers have a unique opportunity to provide accurate data on HIV/AIDS and other health issues. TRIAD provides journalists specific training on the reportage of health concerns with a focus on sensitivity to the subjects they’re covering.
Photojournalism
In a world made increasingly smaller by technology, nothing empowers people more than information. As an offshoot of TRIAD’s journalism programs, our photo experts offer training to bolster the skills of mid-career journalists and teach aspiring photojournalists.
TRIAD provides digital cameras, photo printers, and the consumables needed to sustain the program after we offer training.
TRIAD welcomes donations of used digital cameras. Please email us if you have equipment you’d like to donate.
